Peningkatan Sanitasi Lingkungan Di Kelurahan Buraen, Kecamatan Amarasi Selatan, Kabupaten Kupang

Abstract

Background: Issues identified in Buraen Village included substandard water storage tanks, the presence of households using pit latrines, a lack of waste utilization, and poor handwashing practices.Methods: The activities were conducted in Buraen Village, South Amarasi District, Kupang Regency, and comprised planning, implementation, and evaluation phases. The initiatives involved education and the improvement of sanitation facilities.Results: The activities carried out included repairing one latrine and one clean water storage tank, conducting training on liquid fertilizer production for community groups, and providing education on handwashing with soap to elementary school students.Conclusion: Following the community service activities, there was an improvement in community knowledge and skills, as well as an enhancement of sanitation facilities. It is recommended that future activities target a wider range of community groups and include training for community health volunteers.
