Abstract

The physical and chemical properties of soil are crucial for providing the water, air, and nutrients that plants need. The objective of this study was to analyze the physical characteristics (soil fraction composition) and chemical properties (total N, P₂O₅, K₂O, pH, and cation exchange capacity) of the soil in Naob Village.

This is a descriptive study using a comparative approach. The study utilized six variables: soil fraction composition, total N, P₂O₅, K₂O, pH, and Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC). Four soil samples were collected based on specific coordinates at depths of 0–15 cm and 15–30 cm.

The results showed 66.83% sand, 29.92% silt, and 27.83% clay. The average nitrogen content was 0.585%, the average phosphate content was 53.96 mg/100 g, the average potassium content was 57.04 mg/100 g, the average pH value was 7.705 (slightly alkaline), and the average CEC was 40.375 me/100 g.

Recommendation: As a natural resource, the soil’s physical and chemical properties must be preserved.
