Abstract

Child developmental delays are one of the health problems in stunted children. Currently, the handling of stunted children is more focused on the growth aspect, while the developmental aspect of stunted children has not received serious attention for comprehensive intervention. The scope of this activity includes measuring the socialization of child development stimulation and simulation/practice of how to provide child stimulation. The purpose of the activity is to increase knowledge, skills and motivate parents and cadres in providing stimulation so that children achieve optimal development. Method: The methods used are health education and practice and demonstration of how to provide developmental stimulation to stunted children. This activity is carried out in stages, namely, delivery of materials and simulation/practice of providing child developmental stimulation. The targets of community service activities are health cadres and parents of stunted toddlers in Letmafo Village. The media used are the KIA book and the Pre-Screening Questionnaire format for development (KPSP). The results of the pre-test on 50 parents and health cadres, there were 45 people (90%) who had poor knowledge and skills. The results of the post-test showed that 49 people (98%) had a good level of knowledge and skills on how to stimulate the development of stunted children. The results of the t-test analysis on pre-test knowledge Sig. (2-tailed): 0.000 and the results of the post-test Sig. (2-tailed): 0.000. Conclusion: There was an increase in the knowledge, skills and motivation of parents and posyandu cadres on how to provide stimulation for the development of stunted children before and after mentoring in Letmafo Village, TTU Regency. Suggestion: periodic mentoring is needed for parents and cadres in improving the development of stunted children.
