Peer Review Policies
Peer Review Process
All submitted manuscripts are initially read by the editorial team. The manuscripts that do not meet to journal’s criteria will be rejected without further peer-review. The manuscripts that meet the journal’s criteria will be sent to reviewers (double-blind peer review). The Editor-in-Chief assigns generally two reviewers to evaluate the manuscript. The editors then make a decision based on the reviewer’s comments and recommendation as follows: Accept Submission, Revision Required, Resubmit for Review, Decline Submission.
Review Process:
- Peer Review Model:
The journal operates on a double-blind peer review model. This means that the reviewers are aware of the author's identity, but the authors do not know the identity of the reviewers. This model is chosen to facilitate a more open and honest critique from reviewers while maintaining a professional and confidential process.
- The Peer Review Process
- Initial Screening: Upon submission, the Editor-in-Chief and/or handling editor will conduct an initial check to ensure the manuscript adheres to the journal's scope, format, and ethical guidelines. Submissions that do not meet these criteria may be rejected at this stage.
- Reviewer Selection: If the manuscript passes the initial screening, the handling editor will select at least two independent expert reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject matter. Reviewers are chosen based on their scientific knowledge, publication record, and lack of any potential conflicts of interest.
- Reviewer's Role: Reviewers are asked to evaluate the manuscript for several key aspects, including:
- Scientific Soundness: The validity and reliability of the research methods and data.
- Originality: The novelty and contribution of the work to the field.
- Significance: The importance of the findings to the scientific community.
- Clarity and Organization: The readability and logical structure of the manuscript.
- Ethical Considerations: Compliance with ethical standards for research involving humans, animals, or biological materials.
Editorial Decision: The handling editor will consider all reviewer comments and recommendations to make a final decision. The author will be notified of the decision along with the anonymous reviewer comments to guide their revisions
- Timeliness
The journal aims to complete the initial review process within 4-6 weeks. We appreciate the timely contributions of our reviewers, which are essential for maintaining an efficient publication cycle
- Confidentiality
All manuscripts submitted to the journal are treated as confidential documents. Reviewers are required to maintain the confidentiality of the content and not to use information from the manuscript for their own benefit.
- Appeals
Authors who wish to appeal an editorial decision must submit a detailed letter to the Editor-in-Chief outlining the reasons for their appeal. The decision to overturn a rejection is at the sole discretion of the Editor-in-Chief.
