Ethics

Kelimutu Nursing Journal (KNJ) follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in dealing with all aspects of publication ethics and, in particular, how to handle cases of research and publication misconduct. All articles in this journal involving human subjects must respect the principles of research ethics as described in the Declaration of Helsinki and research involving animals must comply with the International Guiding Principles for Biomedical Research as developed by the Council for International Organization of Medical Sciences (CIOMS) .

Kelimutu Nursing Journal (KNJ) adapts COPE to meet high ethical standards for publishers, editors, authors, and reviewers. As an important issue, publication ethics need to be clearly explained to improve the quality of research worldwide. In this section, we explain the standards for editors, authors, and reviewers. In addition, publishers have no right to interfere with the integrity of the content and only support timely publishing.

For Editors

  1. The editor must be responsible for every article published in the Indonesian Nursing Journal.
  2. Editors should assist authors to follow the instructions for authors that we have adapted from ICMJE .
  3. Editors may communicate with other editors or reviewers in making final decisions.
  4. An editor should evaluate manuscripts objectively for publication, judging each manuscript on its quality without regard to nationality, ethnicity, political belief, race, religion, gender, seniority, or institutional affiliation of the authors. Editors should decline assignments to papers where there is a potential conflict of interest.
  5. Editors need to ensure that documents sent to reviewers do not contain author information, and vice versa.
  6. The editor's decision must be communicated to the author along with the reviewer's comments unless the comments contain offensive or defamatory statements.
  7. Editors should honor requests from authors that someone not review a submission, if the request is reasonable and feasible.
  8. Editors and all staff must ensure the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.
  9. Editors will be guided by the COPE flowchart in cases of suspected misconduct or disputes regarding authorship.

For the Observer

  1. Reviewers need to comment on ethical questions and potential research and publication misconduct.
  2. Reviewers will complete their assignments in a timely manner and must notify the editor if they are unable to complete their assignment.
  3. Reviewers are required to maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts.
  4. Reviewers should not accept manuscript reviews if there is a potential conflict of interest between them and any author.

For Writers

  1. The authors confirm that the material has not been published before and that they have not transferred any rights to the article elsewhere.
  2. Authors must ensure the originality of the work and have cited the work of others correctly according to the reference format.
  3. Writers must not commit plagiarism or self-plagiarism.
  4. Publication of 'Salami' is strictly prohibited in the Indonesian Nursing Journal.
