Abstract

Cervical cancer is the fourth most common type of cancer that attacks women and causes death, and is more common in developing countries than in developed countries. Globocan data in 2018 stated that 1 in 6 women in the world experience cancer and 1 in 11 women die from cancer. The death rate from cervical cancer in women is much higher in countries in transition compared to countries in transition (15.0 vs 12.8 per 100,000 and 12.4 vs 5.2 per 100,000, respectively). Global mortality rates can be reduced through a comprehensive approach that includes prevention, early diagnosis, effective screening and adequate treatment programs. Early detection behavior of cervical cancer in women in Wolomage Village is still low. This can be seen from the low coverage of early detection of cervical cancer using the Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid method in 2021-2023, which was only 0.05% of the total housewives aged 30-60 years and 3 cases of housewives were found who were detected with cervical cancer at an advanced stage. Most of the IVA examination participants were over 40 years old, the majority had 2 children, most had secondary education and were married at a healthy reproductive age, namely between 20 and 35 years old. The results of the IVA examination showed all in the negative category, 15% of participants experienced uterine portion erosion and 85% were in a healthy cervical condition. To increase WUS awareness in conducting IVA tests in Wolomage Village, a commitment is needed to increase socialization of the importance of IVA tests as an effort to prevent and control cervical cancer and increase access to IVA test services in the community.
