Optimizing Nutrition Services at Community Health Centers Through Monitoring and Evaluation of the Role of Nutrition Officers

Abstract

One of the causes of stunting is poor nutrition in mothers and children. Insufficient nutritional intake by mothers before pregnancy, during pregnancy, and during the first 1,000 days of a child's life can hinder their growth. The suboptimal role of nutrition workers remains a challenge in efforts to improve the nutritional status of the community. This activity aims to monitor and evaluate the role of nutrition workers in providing nutrition services at the South Central Timur Regency Community Health Center. The methods used include technical assistance, direct observation, focused discussions, and instrument completion. The activity was carried out with nutrition workers and across Community Health Center programs using a participatory approach. The results of the activity showed that 60% of targets did not hold a letter of assignment as a nutrition officer, 100% of targets were also responsible for recording and reporting on the application, 80% did not have a recording and reporting SOP, 100% had used the e-PPGBM application, 100% of targets said the presence of toddlers was an obstacle in recording and reporting, 80% said there was continuous monitoring and evaluation from the head of the Community Health Center, 100% of targets said there was no special award for the achievement of recording and reporting of officers. In general, the implementation of recording and reporting has gone quite well. Officers have recorded the results of weighing and measuring toddlers routinely every month, then reported them to the si Gizi Kesga application or the e-PPGBM application.
