Efforts to Prevent Elderly Non-Compliance with Integrated Health Posts (Posyandu)
Keywords:
Non-compliance, elderly, integrated health postAbstract
The level of elderly participation in Posyandu activities is still relatively low. This indicates a lack of elderly compliance with the health programs provided. Elderly non-compliance in attending Posyandu can be influenced by various factors, including limited knowledge about the benefits of Posyandu, limited physical mobility, lack of family support, psychological factors, and suboptimal access to health facilities. This condition has the potential to cause late detection of health problems, an increased risk of chronic disease complications, and a decreased quality of life for the elderly. Therefore, preventive and educational efforts are needed to increase awareness and attendance of elderly people in Posyandu activities. This community service activity aims to increase the understanding of the elderly and their families regarding the importance of regular participation in Posyandu activities for the elderly as a form of preventing non-compliance. The methods used include health education, interactive education, group discussions, and the provision of information media in the form of leaflets or posters. This activity is expected to increase knowledge, change attitudes, and motivate seniors to more actively utilize integrated health service posts (Posyandu). The results of the community service demonstrate that the health education provided has increased awareness among seniors and their families about the importance of regular health check-ups. Therefore, efforts to prevent non-compliance with Posyandu services in the elderly need to be carried out sustainably through collaboration between healthcare workers, cadres, families, and the community.
