Author Guidelines

MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION AND SUBMISSION

Initial Submission

Submitted manuscripts must be original health research works focusing on nutrition issues. Articles must be written in Indonesian, while the title and abstract must be in both Indonesian and English. Article submissions must be complete and meet all minimum requirements of the Kupang Journal of Food and Nutrition Research, as follows:

• Manuscripts must be created using Microsoft Word, formatted in Times New Roman, 10 pt font, 1.5 spacing, with margins of 2.54 cm for left, top, right, and bottom. Use A4 paper size in a two-column format. The total length must be 5-8 pages.

• Manuscripts must comply with the Kupang Journal of Food and Nutrition Research template.

• Manuscripts with inappropriate topics or formatting will be immediately rejected.

• Accepted manuscripts will undergo a peer-review process.

Manuscript File Format

All manuscripts must be submitted in Word document format, except for plagiarism checker results which should be in PDF. Visit https://jurnal.poltekkeskupang.ac.id/index.php/KJFNR/index for online article submission.

Manuscript Components

Research articles consist of the Title, author names, affiliations, abstracts in Indonesian and English, keywords, introduction, methods, results and discussion, conclusion and suggestions, and references.

WRITING GUIDELINES

Title

• The title must be written in both Indonesian and English. It should be informative, concise (10-15 words), using Times New Roman font, 14 pt, Bold, with 1.5 spacing.

• The title must not contain uncommon abbreviations.

Abstract and Keywords

• The abstract must be written concisely, highlighting the most important ideas, and must include the problem, objectives, methods, results, and conclusion.

• The abstract is written in Indonesian and English with a maximum of 200-250 words.

• The abstract for each language must be written in exactly 1 paragraph in a single-column format.

• Keywords are written in Indonesian and English, containing 3-5 main terms. They must be listed in alphabetical order without references.

Introduction

The introduction is presented comprehensively without subtitles. It is written in paragraph form containing: the background of the study and the problem, the theoretical basis used to address and solve the problem (preferably from journal sources), the research location, and the objectives.

Methods

Describes the research type, design, population, sample, data collection techniques, instruments, procedures, and research ethics.

Results and Discussion

Results and Discussion are written as a single, inseparable section. This section includes tables, diagrams/graphs, narratives explaining them, and other statements made during the study. If there are sub-topics, they should be written without numbering and structured systematically according to the objectives and implementation stages. The manuscript must be 5-8 pages long, and the Results and Discussion section must make up at least 50% of the total pages. The discussion must contain arguments linking theories with the results, as well as the impact and benefits of the study in solving the addressed health problem, complete with citations.

Conclusion and Suggestions

The conclusion is a comprehensive summary of the results and discussion in accordance with the objectives and research stages, written in 1 short paragraph. Suggestions are directed towards target partners, research implementation partners, and/or relevant policymakers.

Acknowledgments (If Any)

Acknowledgments are given to relevant parties who provided funding or other forms of support during the research, written in one short paragraph.

References

References must be written following the APA (American Psychological Association) Style. There must be a minimum of 10 references, with at least 80% coming from primary sources: published national and international journal articles, and proceedings. It is highly recommended to use the Mendeley reference manager application.
